NEUROMUSCULAR REHABILITATION THERAPIST (NMRT) COURSES:

Time is money. Many clients and athletes can't afford to take the time to rehabilitate injuries so they constantly reinjure themselves and create chronic problems. Neuromuscular Rehabilitation Therapy (NMRT) offers a solution to this problem by not only rehabilitating injury, it also reduces chronic pain, improves normal function and enhances athletic performance faster than traditional methods.

Many doctors, chiropractors, and rehabilitation facilities are seeking trained neuromuscular therapists who possess the assessment techniques necessary to identify injuries and the skills to properly rehabilitate them. NMRT Protocols are especially attractive to medical professionals because they are billable under Colorado insurance laws. If you are seeking to set yourself apart from the crowd and gain a real competitive advantage in your private practice, NMRT provides you with cutting edge technology in dealing with sports and repetitive strain injuries. The Neuromuscular Rehabilitation Therapy Program is approved by the Colorado Division of Private Occupational Schools. Not approved by ABHES.

Neuromuscular Therapy Protocols include:

  • Treatment and rehabilitation protocols for sports and repetitive strain injuries.
  • A wide range of neuromuscular tools to reduce pain and improve function.
  • Range of Motion (ROM) assessment of joints.
  • Palpation techniques to isolate pain patterns and their causes.
  • Identifying movement limitation and compensation patterns of common conditions.
  • Muscle testing to isolate which muscles are involved in various syndromes.
  • Protocols for working acute and chronic conditions.
  • Stretching and exercise rehabilitation plans.
  • Advanced trigger point therapy.
  • Body Mind integration skills.
The convenient workshop formats make it easier for therapists to fit them into their busy schedules.

Neuromuscular Rehabilitation Therapist Course Descriptions

Prerequisites for all Neuromuscular Rehabilitation Courses: Anatomy 2, Body Insight 3 or other approved neuromuscular & anatomy training. If you are a graduate of another training program, please contact Administration for details.

TMJ & Tension Headache Treatment Protocol
This course will cover trigger points for all muscles involved in headaches. You will learn how to isolate dysfunctional patterns in the profound muscles of the neck and jaw, rehabilitate and return the area to normal function. Stretches and exercises taught reduce the chance of reoccurrence.

Whiplash Treatment Protocol
You will learn assessment techniques for whiplash by identifying range of motion limitations in the neck, common compensation patterns and how eye movements can indicate problems. We teach you advanced neuromuscular strokes, cross fiber and trigger point interventions to increase function and reduce pain.

Carpal Tunnel Treatment Protocol
This course gives you the tools necessary to provide long term relief for your clients. You will learn assessment tools, advanced neuromuscular rehabilitation strokes, mobilization techniques, ice and hydrotherapy to help your clients overcome this kind of repetitive strain injury. This skill is a must for the corrective therapist because success can determine whether clients can remain on the job and be productive.

Thoracic Outlet Syndrome Treatment Protocol
This course teaches you palpation techniques to isolate pain patterns and their causes. You will learn muscle and range of motion testing to isolate muscles that are involved in the syndrome and apply advanced neuromuscular strokes to correct dysfunction.

Plantar Fasciitis & Shin Splints Treatment Protocol
Course will address common problems such as: chronic foot and leg pain, calf, arch, and foot cramps, and burning sensations. You will learn how to prevent reoccurrences and increase runner's efficiency.

Scoliosis Treatment Protocol
Scoliosis is a very treatable condition if you know the right moves. Even clients with congenital forms of scoliosis can receive great relief from the techniques offered. We will demonstrate how to "unwind" the rotational forces that hold scoliosis in place and the effective stretching and exercise necessary to assist your clients in developing structural balance. Home exercise protocols will be given to encourage continued client participation in maintaining structural integrity.

Low Back & Hip Treatment Protocol
This course will address problems arising from low back dysfunction, something that 90% of the population will experience at least once in their lives. We will demonstrate how L-4, L-5, and S-1 compression is the key to the problem and give you tools to assess, relieve pain, and increase mobility. You will learn more techniques to relieve hip problems and sciatica.

Structural Kinesiology
Pain patterns are often hidden or disguised depending on which muscles are acting inefficiently on a joint. The client may not be able to specifically identify the exact area of pain and often it will be spread over a diffuse area. You will learn how to assess dysfunction using muscle testing to quickly get to the root of the problem. Once the cause of the pain pattern is determined to be primary or secondary, we will teach you the proper treatment plan for structural rebalance of the joint. Active and passive testing will be demonstrated to identify whether an injury is in the muscle, ligament or joint capsule.

Clinical Body Insight
This course will teach in-depth postural assessment for various conditions and offer home exercise plans for each. As a Neuromuscular therapist, the more comfortable you are with your postural assessment skills the easier it will be to generate the proper home exercise plans for your clients. Teaching your clients to work at home to maintain physically efficient posture (PEP) while their syndrome is being corrected will help them generate internal awareness so they can maintain long term change for themselves.
